Energy infrastructure under attack in Ukraine
Ukraine's power facilities have faced escalating strikes in recent weeks

Throughout the evening, Moscow's aerial assaults have resulted in blackouts in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were wounded while residents in eastern neighborhoods were experienced blackouts and faced disruption to water systems, according to city officials.

Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was fatally injured in a different aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, according to local officials.

Moscow has increased strikes on electrical systems over recent weeks, while officials has requested "substantial measures" from allies to increase pressure on Moscow.

"The necessity is not window dressing but strong steps - from the United States, the EU and the major economies - in supplying protection systems and implementing penalties," he wrote in a online statement.

Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and more than 30 rockets struck Ukraine's energy infrastructure, labeling such assaults as "premeditated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as winter approaches.

Government representatives said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and technical staff were working to repair systems.

A wave of strikes hit electrical systems and civilian homes in the capital.

Five out of the nine people injured in the strikes on the city have been taken to hospital, according to local officials.

Regional authorities said the metropolitan region endured heavy assaults throughout the evening. A seven-year-old child died and three other people were wounded.

The attacks come after nights of bombing campaigns in the region, parts of which are occupied by Moscow's military.

All of Ukraine is on alert for advanced weapon attacks, which are more difficult to spot.

Government officials told the media that Moscow was intentionally trying to damage the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already affecting fuel infrastructure.

Officials stated technical personnel and authorities were preparing for further attacks.
